That is why the protective housing is usually made of sturdy metal, with a painted finish to prevent rusting.
The reel mowers (which are manual and not automated) allow you to get the physical benefits of the exertion. This type of lawn mower is good for yards that measure around 100 square meters, and have soft bladed grass (meaning you did not plant the Saint Augustine or Bermuda type of grass in your yard.)
The power lawn mowers also come as either rotary or reel mowers. The rotary type is less costly than the reel type, user friendly and easier to sharpen. The reel mowers are great for easily shortening your grass to putting green level, and leave a clean appearance to the grass afterwards.
If you don’t mind the smoke and the smell, plus the noise, a gas powered lawn mower might be what you are looking for. But for those who do mind, then go the electricity-powered lawn mower route instead. Electric-powered mowers could either be the corded or cordless type. The corded lawn mower will have a cord measuring around 100 feet long to connect to a power outlet. But if you’re the type who fears running over the cord itself and cutting it with the lawn mower blades, or simply find electric cords a nuisance, then you will like cordless an electric lawn mower because it has its own power supply. You only need to charge it once a day for around 4 to 6 hours at a time (or depending on the power capacity of your electric engine.)
A self propelled or push mower will be appropriate for use on sloping surfaces. For ease of use, get the front-propelled type of lawn mowers. If your lawn is really big, then you must need a tractor-type of lawn mower which is the type you can actually ride like a car as you cut the grass in the yard.
